Emergency fix · WordPress migration

Move hosts or domains without drama.
Minimal downtime, nothing broken.

Serialized data handled with WP-CLI, DNS pre-lowered, redirects preserved, email deliverability protected. A senior engineer owns the whole migration. Not a one-click plugin that silently corrupts your database.

Sound familiar?

If any of this describes your situation, this is the right fix.

You don’t need to know the exact sequence of steps. If one of these is true, start the migration. We’ll scope the specifics on intake.

Moving from a slow or expensive host to a faster one and don’t want to break anything.
Changing the domain name and need serialized data, redirects, and SEO preserved.
Pushing a staging site to production without clobbering live orders, comments, or users.
A plugin migration corrupted serialized data and the site looks broken on the new host.
Previous move broke email: password resets not arriving, contact forms silently failing.
Merging a multisite down to a single site, or splitting a single site into multisite.
How it works

A clean migration in three clear steps.

No duplicator plugin, no broken serialized data, no 48-hour propagation surprise.

01
Day 0, before cutover

DNS pre-lowered. Staging synced.

We lower TTL 24–48 hours before cutover so DNS changes propagate fast. We build a full clone on the destination host and test it end-to-end before any visitor sees it.

02
Cutover window

Final sync. Flip. Verify.

Site put in a brief maintenance mode on origin, final delta synced via WP-CLI with serialized-data-safe search-replace, DNS flipped, SSL verified, email MX re-pointed. Typical cutover window is a few minutes during low-traffic hours.

03
72 hours after

Monitored. Redirects verified. Old host retired.

We watch uptime, 404 logs, Search Console, and email deliverability for 72 hours. Once confirmed clean, we retire the old host and hand you a migration report + Loom walkthrough.

Why not a plugin

One-click migration plugins corrupt serialized data.

They break theme customizer settings, widget layouts, and plugin options silently. By the time you notice, the old host is gone. Here’s what a real migration looks like.

★★★★★
“Moved 12GB of WooCommerce orders hosts. A few-minute cutover, no lost orders, no broken customizer settings. Our previous plugin migration had taken the site down for 6 hours. This was barely a blip.”

“Domain change after a rebrand. Everyone warned me about SEO wipeout. Ainygo kept every 301, re-submitted the sitemap, and we didn’t lose a single ranking. Google Search Console was flat green the whole week.”

“Pushed a 3-month staging rebuild to production without losing the 400 new comments and 80 orders placed while we were in staging. I don’t even understand how they merged it cleanly. Just worked.”

What’s in scope

Not a one-click plugin in a trench coat.

A proper migration is three things: data moved without corruption, DNS flipped with the shortest possible maintenance window, and post-move verification that catches redirects, email, and SEO regressions before your users do. We handle all three by hand.

Going somewhere new and want ongoing care on the destination? Our Shield and Thrive care plans add weekly updates, uptime monitoring, and daily off-site backups from day one.

  • Full file & database move (any size, including uploads)
  • WP-CLI search-replace for serialized data safety
  • DNS TTL pre-lowered 24–48 hours ahead of cutover
  • Final delta sync at cutover (no lost orders/comments)
  • 301 redirect map preserved (or built from scratch)
  • SSL provisioned & HTTPS verified before cutover
  • Email MX, SPF, DKIM verified on destination
  • 72-hour monitoring + migration report + Loom walkthrough
Common questions

What people ask before starting a migration.

How long does a migration take?

+
Most migrations finish in 24–72 hours end-to-end. That includes the 24–48 hour DNS TTL window, the cutover itself (usually under an hour of actual flip time), and 72 hours of post-move monitoring. Larger sites (50GB+, multisite) may need a scoping call.

Will my visitors see downtime?

+
Minimal. Because DNS is pre-lowered and we use a final delta sync, most visitors see a normal page or a brief maintenance screen during the cutover window, typically only a few minutes. Admin users see a short read-only window during the final flip. We plan cutovers during low-traffic hours to keep impact as small as possible.

What about WooCommerce orders mid-migration?

+
Handled explicitly. We schedule the cutover during low-traffic hours, snapshot orders at the start of the final sync, and re-sync any new orders placed during the cutover window. No lost orders, no double-processed orders.

What if the destination host has problems?

+
We test end-to-end on the destination before cutover. If we find performance or compatibility issues, we flag them before flipping DNS. If the destination is genuinely unsuitable, we’ll recommend a better fit before charging for the move.

Domain change: what about SEO?

+
Every old URL gets a proper 301 to its new counterpart, the sitemap is regenerated, Search Console is updated with the change-of-address signal, and we monitor for 404s for the first 72 hours. SEO loss is usually zero to under 5%, and it recovers within a month.

Do you handle DNS, email, and SSL too?

+
Yes, all three are part of the flat price. We do not charge extra for DNS changes at your registrar, SSL provisioning on the new host, or verifying MX/SPF/DKIM. If your email is on a separate provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365), we leave that alone and just verify it survives the move.
A botched migration is harder to fix than a clean one

Don’t roll the dice on a one-click plugin.

Broken serialized data, lost orders, SEO collapse, dead email. We’ve cleaned up every flavor of botched migration. Doing it right costs less. Flat $49, minimal-downtime cutover, 72-hour monitoring.
